IPNEWS: A fire erupted at the Lonestar Cell MTN head office early Sunday Morning, prompting an immediate response from the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS). Firefighters arrived swiftly on the scene and were able to prevent extensive damage to the main building.

However, several sections of the facility were affected before the blaze was brought under control. The damaged areas include:

    National Identification Registry

    Emergency Personnel Unit (EPU)

    Special Needs Division (SND)

    Eye Boing

    SIM Card Registration Desks

In addition to office damage, two operational vehicles and a Motto Bike were also impacted.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and to evaluate the full extent of the losses. Witnesses reported seeing thick smoke rising from the building, heightening concerns for staff safety.

Following the fire quenching, authorities of Lone Star Cell MTN issued a statement lauding the Liberia National fire service for its response.

” Earlier today, a fire occurred at our Head Office. We are relieved to confirm that no one was injured. Thanks to the quick and coordinated response of our staff, security personnel, and the fire service, the fire was contained quickly and did not reach our main buildings or affect any operational equipment or network systems.

We sincerely appreciate our team’s calm and effective response, as well as the professionalism and courage of the fire service and police. Their prompt action ensured the situation was controlled safely. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and we are fully cooperating with their efforts.

We also thank our colleagues who responded immediately some coming straight from church or despite family commitments. Your dedication and support made a real difference. We reassure our customers and partners that all services, including voice, data, and Mobile Money, remain fully operational and unaffected. We remain committed to the safety of our people and the continuity of our operations.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.” Lone Star Cell MTN statement read.
