IPNEW: A Liberian citizen, Hon. Franklin Amoh Kemokai, has written an open letter to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, expressing deep frustration over what he describes as misplaced priorities by the current administration.
In the strongly worded communication, Kemokai criticized the government’s focus on acquiring land and constructing political party headquarters while unemployment, poverty, and social vulnerability continue to affect millions of Liberians.
Kemokai stressed that public resources should be directed toward addressing the urgent needs of ordinary citizens, rather than what he believes are partisan projects with little immediate benefit to society.
“It is disheartening to witness substantial financial resources being allocated to the construction of political party headquarters when millions of our young citizens are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet,” the letter said.
“These actions only underscore a failure to address the alarming rates of unemployment and poverty that plague our society.”
He further lamented that many citizens are living in extremely harsh conditions young people without jobs, children selling in the streets, rising prostitution due to economic desperation, and a healthcare system unable to meet growing demands.
Kemokai questioned whether such investments align with the expectations of Liberians who voted for the administration with hopes of a better future.
“Is this truly the rescue we envisioned for Liberia?” he asked, noting that the country needs job creation, business support, and improved education rather than expanded political infrastructure.
Calling for a change in direction, Kemokai urged the presidency to re-prioritize national development efforts to better serve the most vulnerable Liberians.
“I urge you to reconsider these priorities. Let this administration be remembered for uplifting its citizens, not for investing in political ambitions at their expense,” he appealed.
