    In a drive to accelerate fast growth and development in Liberia’s Footballing sector, The President of the Liberia Football Association Mustapha Raji flanked by Executive Committee member , Tickly D. Monkoney, LFA’s Deputy General Secretary Mohammed A. Sheriff, and Club Presidents Sylvanus Morris of Global Pharma Christopher Weah of Stages Queen and Ofori Nicholas Jr. of Ravia Angels all visited and inspected the Gompa Mini Stadium in Gompa, Nimba County where renovation works are ongoing and is said to be nearing completion.

    Mr. Weah’s presence at the visitation of the new Football facility in Nimba County as one of the delegation memebrs was not a coincidence.

    Christopher who recently told sports reporters that his interest is for Football development promised to make himslef available at anytime to work along with President Raji once called upon as his presence in Nimba was evidence of his commitment to the development of the game.

    The Football stakeholders during the visitation were seen beaming with smile signifying a sign of relief and great impression for the level of work done thus far on the Mini Stadium.

    Very satisfied to see another milestone development within the sector , The Football decision makers were thrilled to see the successful completion of the artificial turf (the playing pitch) , a key component of the project while works are now underway for the installation of goalposts and substitution benches.

    As part of the renovation works in line with standards and best practices as a means of adding more value to the mini stadium, other key upgrades include the installation of floodlights, to pave the way for night games, an underground water sprinkler system, inner fencing, and roofing for the spectator stands respectively.

    At the same time, other essential component of the renovation works include, the dressing rooms to ensure that it meets the standards of the newly refurbished mini stadium.

    According to the Football House, President, Mustapha Raji , The Gompa project is an expansion of the LFA’s infrastructure development efforts.

    As other projects are underway , Raji reassure stakeholders that he is committed to using Football money to improve and develop Football infrastructures across the Country.

    The proactive and result oriented President expressed gratitude to the contractors for the level of work done on the project but at the same time encouraged them to do more in order to fully complete the project and ensure that the potential beneficieries begin to use the facility.

    He stated that once fully completed, the pitch will host various LFA competitions, including grassroots football.

    Meanwhile, The project, funded by FIFA through the FIFA Forward Program, commenced on November 4, 2024, and is expected to be officially dedicated soon.
