Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah Vows Never to Support George Weah or the CDC Again..

IPNEWS: Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah, a former key figure in the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), has declared that he will never support Ex-President George Weah or the CDC again.

In an exclusive interview with ELBC, Fallah made it clear that his allegiance now lies with President Joseph Boakai. He emphasized that even if President Boakai were to step down from the presidential race, he would fully support any candidate that Boakai endorses, alongside his family and supporters.

Fallah reflected on the sacrifices he made for the re-election of Now Former President George Weah, recalling how he personally urged voters during the campaign to support Weah and the CDC, rather than himself.

A third-term lawmaker with the CDC, Fallah was expelled from the party in 2024 after choosing to support Speaker Richard Koon during the speakership impasse.

Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah officially resigned from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and joined the ruling Unity Party (UP), declaring 100% support for President Joseph Boakai.

His departure followed a period of intense internal friction and formal expulsion by the CDC leadership.

On December 5, 2025, Fallah was inducted as a full-fledged member of the Unity Party during a fundraising rally in Congo Town. He stated his decision was driven by “national interest” and “patriotism” rather than party loyalty.

Fallah has publicly praised the Boakai administration for its “strong governance” and “accountability,” contrasting it with his former party’s legacy. He recently reaffirmed that he supports the President’s agenda 100%.

Relations between Fallah and former President George Weah deteriorated significantly throughout 2025. Fallah has since replaced photos of Weah on his platforms and publicly criticized the CDC for prioritizing Weah “above everyone else”.

Before his formal move to the UP, the CDC expelled Fallah for his role in efforts to remove House Speaker J. Fonati Koffa, labeling his actions a “despicable act of betrayal”.

As of early January 2026, Fallah remains a key ally of the Unity Party government. While he maintains he is “not a Unity Party man” but a “Lofa man” working for his constituents, his political alignment has completely shifted away from the CDC and George Weah.

Meanwhile, he is currently facing new internal legislative challenges, with reports of a potential resolution from some lawmakers seeking his removal as Deputy Speaker due to alleged financial malpractices.
