    Opulence Amidst Power Struggle in Nimba county

    –As Lands Mines and Energy Minister Host Lavish Christmas Party for 300 Traditional Leaders

    IPNEWS: Since the passing of former Nimba Senator Prince Y. Johnson supremacy for leadership in Nimba county continue to take diverse shape with leaders of the county competing to step in the shoes of former Senator Johnson.

    Recently, a power struggle emerged between current Nimba Senator Samuel Korgar, and Vice President Jeremiah Koung over who’s the political Leader of Nimba county. Some report suggest that Traditional leaders of the county had earlier picked Senator Samuel Kogar to replacing Senator Johnson.

    However, it looks like other notable names of Nimba county are not letting their eyes off the county leadership.

    In the town of Glenyee-zorpea, Nimba County, former Nimba Lawmaker who couldn’t pay visit to locals prior to being Minister of Lands Minnes and Energy, Hon. R. Matenokay Tingbain, strangely display his wealth during his visit during the December 25, Christmas celebrations.

    The Minister, hosted a dinner with traditional Chiefs and elders of Nimba of Nimba county brigning together over 300, traditional and cultural leaders from across the county to promote peace, unity, and reconciliation in Nimba.

    In support of the gathering, the minister further presented four cows and several bags of 25Kg rice including cash to the traditional leaders and members of occasion to enhance the celebration.

    Addressing the audience Hon Tingban praised the traditional leaders for their leadership role in shaping his political ministerial journey and further emphasized on their importance in fostering peace and unity in the county 

     The minister noted that the program was intended to extend beyond the celebration period and serve as a foundation for county-wide unity, stressing that his current position would be used to promote togetherness rather than division among the people of Nimba.

    “We will change the narrative which says when a Nimba man died it’s another Nimba man who kills him, instead when a Nimba man succeed it is another Nimba man who supports him

    He emphasized that the celebration was intended to reduce the Christmas burdens on the Vice President and the County leadership headed by the Superintendent in the County.

    ” Everything we are doing here is in consultation with the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, ” Nimba is changing the narrative which says “when a Nimba man died it is another Nimba man who kills him, instead “when a Nimba man succeed it is a Nimba man who’s supports him.

    Meanwhile. Hon Tingban noted that the Unity Party administration has been in office for less than two years and requires time to fully implement its development agenda. He said, the public complaints are not necessarily due to lacks of progress but are, in some cases, politically motivated attempts to undermine the government’s image in the Country. 

    “With all of what is happening now, you will know that by this time next year things will be better” Minister Tingban assures further Nimbians of Improved Governance and Infrastructure under the Boakai Koung administration, he assured the citizens that the current government is making significant progress, and the ongoing challenges will stabilize in the coming year

    ‎The Minister added that key sectors are already experiencing improvements, particularly the rubber industry  and agriculture,  He pointed out rubber prices have risen to levels not previously seen, benefiting local traders and farmers, and attributed this development to government policies in Liberia.

    ‎He at the same time highlighted efforts of improving roads connectivity across the country. And disclosed that the 285-pieces of yellow machines have been procured nationwide by the government, assuring that Nimba County is expected to benefit about two sets of the equipments to address its longstanding roads connectivity in the County.

    ‎Hon Tingban urged citizens to remain patient and allow the government do the necessary things to deliver its commitments to citizens of Liberia.
