Harper, Maryland County. Tubman University will hold its 12th Graduation Convocation Ceremony on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the main campus in Harper. During this event, 265 graduates from six colleges will receive their degrees.
The Convocation Speaker is Professor Letlhokwa George Mpedi, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa. He will be accompanied by a notable UJ delegation, which includes Professor Bongani Ngqulunga, Senior Executive Director for University Relations, Sport and Student Affairs; Professor Kammila Naidoo, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; and Professor Daniel Mashao, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment.
On November 23, the Baccalaureate Service will be held, with Most Rev. Andrew J. Karnley, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Cape Palmas as the Guest Preacher.
The President & CEO of TU, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay described the graduation as a time of growth and resilience for the university. “This convocation is a testament to our collective commitment to excellence. Our graduates are equipped, prepared, and inspired to serve Liberia and make meaningful contributions to the global community,” Dr. Menjay said.
The visit will also include talks to strengthen and expand the agreement between TU and UJ. This year’s theme is “Education for Innovation and Global Impact.”
