IPNEWS: Kakata, Margibi County – The Political Leader of the Collaborating Movement for Change (CMC), Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, has stirred political controversy after publicly condemning the performance of Margibi County lawmakers during the groundbreaking ceremony for a senior secondary school over the weekend.
Addressing residents and guests at the event, Mr. Bility expressed strong dissatisfaction with what he described as the county’s stagnation and deteriorating appearance, despite being home to influential national lawmakers.
“You have lawmakers here that are influential both in the Senate and in the House of Representatives,” he said. “For me to be driving through Margibi… and it’s looking like this, it’s shameful. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
Bility argued that Margibi — Liberia’s third-most populous county — deserves far better socioeconomic conditions than currently observed, and should not still be grappling with basic development needs.
He emphasized that the CMC’s expansion into Margibi aims to challenge what he believes is long-standing underperformance by elected officials.
“We are here in Margibi to shame them,” Bility stressed. “If it makes them vex, let them come and do whatever they want to do.”
The outspoken political leader further urged Margibians to reconsider their voting decisions in future elections, asserting that the county must break away from leadership he believes has failed to deliver.
“Enough is enough,” he declared. “Margibians should not make the same mistakes.”
His remarks drew mixed reactions, with some in the audience applauding the call for greater accountability while others expressed concerns that the comments could heighten political tensions in an already charged environment.
CMC officials say the party aims to roll out more development-driven initiatives in Margibi as part of its broader national strategy.
