The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Masons, Republic of Liberia, continues support to the Liberia Scout Association

IPNEWS: The Grand Lodge of Masons of Liberia has come to the aid of the Liberia Scout Association (LSA) by providing a check of US$3,000 to secure a new office space for the country’s oldest youth and young adults organization.

The donation was made by the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Liberia, MWB Willis J. Allen, during a brief ceremony held at the Masonic Temple in Monrovia.

Presenting the check to Mr. T. Martin Allen, President of the Liberia Scout Association, Grand Master Allen described the gesture as the fulfillment of a promise he made earlier this year when he was invested as Chief Scout of Liberia. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to support the Scouts of Liberia and ensure they have a decent home to operate from,” he said. “The next step is to work toward the investiture of the President of Liberia as Chief Patron of Scouts, a global tradition in the Scouting movement.”

Receiving the donation, LSA President Allen expressed deep gratitude to the Grand Lodge for its continued support. He noted that after more than a century of existence, the Liberia Scout Association has been operating without a permanent office, making this milestone both historic and transformative for the organization. “This marks a turning point in the life of Scouting in Liberia,” he said. “We intend to use the funds prudently to furnish the office and make it fully functional. We are hopeful that the dedication of the new office will take place by the last week of October 2025.”

In April 2025, the Liberia Scout Association conferred the honorary title of Chief Scout of Liberia on MWB Willis J. Allen during a colorful ceremony at the Masonic Temple, where the reorganized Board of the Association was also inducted.

Several senior officers of the Grand Lodge witnessed the presentation, including Immediate Past Grand Master MWB Anthony W. Deline II, Senior Grand Warden RWB Nathaniel E. Kevin, Junior Grand Warden RWB Ahmed S. Wazni, Grand Treasurer RWB Emmanuel D. Howe, Grand Secretary RWB Roland B. Martin, District Deputy Grand Master RWB Benjamin O. Solanke, and Chairman of the Lodge of Research RWB Emmanuel C. O. Bright Davies.

Also in attendance were Mr. Diameno J. Nasih, Chief Commissioner of Scouts, and Mr. Walter J. Skinner, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Liberia Scout Association.
