In the wake of the passing of the late Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Sylvester M. Grigsby, and following President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s nomination of his successor, senior management of the Ministry of State convened a special meeting today to reassure staff, strengthen unity, and initiate transition processes to keep the Presidency’s work on course.

Presiding over the gathering, the Minister of State Without Portfolio, Hon. Hadja Mamaka Bility—who has been serving as Acting Minister of State for Presidential Affairs until the President’s recent nomination of Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah—expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry family for the strong support extended to her during this challenging period.

Minister Bility opened the meeting with a solemn moment of silence in honor of the late Minister Grigsby. She emphasized that the meeting followed cordial consultations between her and the incoming Minister, aimed at fostering coordination, reviewing ongoing priorities, and ensuring a smooth handover in line with the President’s directives.

In his remarks, Designated Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah, extended gratitude to Minister Bility for her leadership and stewardship. He pledged to build on her efforts by working collaboratively with senior staff, emphasizing consultations both in formal forums and through direct engagement.

Several senior officials in attendance commended Minister Bility for her exemplary service and assured Minister Stevquoah of their full cooperation and commitment to advancing the work of the Presidency. Those making remarks included Director General of the Cabinet, Mr. Nathaniel Kwabo; Senior Presidential Advisor, Dr. Augustine Konneh; Presidential Legal Advisor, Cllr. Busheben Keita; and Deputy Minister for Administration, Atty. Cornelia W. Kruah.

The meeting concluded with a renewed spirit of solidarity and a shared commitment to ensuring continuity and efficiency in the execution of the Ministry’s mandate in support of the President and the Liberian people.
