The closing ceremony of Operation ANOUANZÉ 3 took place on August 28, 2025, in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The operation, launched by ECOWAS Multinational Maritime Coordination Centre (MMCC) Zone F on August 25, 2025, aimed to combat maritime threats in the region through joint maritime patrols.
The operation took place from 25 to 28 August 2025 in Zone F, which includes Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. It aimed to promote regional cooperation and strengthen the capacities of Member States to combat maritime threats. The operation was supported by ECOWA, the Regional Centre for Maritime Security for West Africa (CRESMAO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as part of ECOWA’s integrated maritime security strategy, with technical support from ECOWA UNODC through the Safe Seas for Africa project, funded by the European Union.

The operation was supported by ECOWAS, the West Africa Regional Centre for Maritime Security (CRESMAO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), as part of the ECOWAS Integrated Maritime Security Strategy, with technical support from UNODC through the EU-funded “Safe, with technical support from UNODC through the “Safe Seas for Africa” project, funded by the European Union.
