In a significant move toward regional development, Senator Nathaniel F. McGill and Representative Musa Hassan Bility of Nimba County have announced plans to launch two major infrastructure projects in Gibi District: the construction of a model road and a senior high school.
The announcement came during a thank-you tour hosted by Senator McGill to express gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from the people of Gibi during the 2023 senatorial elections. The event drew a diverse crowd, including Christians, Muslims, traditional leaders, and residents from across the district.
Senator McGill praised the people of Gibi for their trust and support, describing their decision to vote for him as a “turning point” for the district’s future. He emphasized that his visit was not only a gesture of appreciation but also an opportunity to assess the state of the Gibi road, which has been slated for rehabilitation.
As part of the event, Senator McGill formally introduced Representative Bility as the standard bearer of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), referring to him warmly as a brother. In his address, Rep. Bility thanked the residents of Margibi for embracing him and affirmed his dedication to contributing to the county’s development.
The two leaders revealed that they will jointly break ground next week for the construction of a modern road connecting Kakata to Gibi District. This initiative aims to enhance transportation, boost local trade, and improve access to essential services.
In addition, Rep. Bility announced a landmark education project spearheaded by the Bility Humanities Foundation: the construction of a senior high school in Gibi, the first of its kind in the district. According to Bility, construction will commence immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, with plans underway to eventually establish a college in the area.
Community members expressed profound gratitude to both leaders for their vision and tangible commitment to uplifting Gibi District. The initiatives are being hailed as critical steps in transforming the region and providing new opportunities for residents, particularly the youth.
