IPNEWS: The Government of Liberia through the Civil Service Agency will for the first time host a regional public service leadership conference in the Country.

Marking the disclosure on Friday, the Director General of the Civil Service Agency Josiah Joekai said five Countries are expected to participate in the regional gathering.

The planned conference which Liberia is proud to host, Mr. Joekai stated will among other things focus on human health work force.

He stressed that as part of the CSA workforce development strategy, they want to have a regional platform in Africa where Africans are able to share experiences, pull resources as well as engaged into what he described as a South- South partnership.

“What I mean is that in such a continental partnership, Liberia will no longer have to heavily rely on international organizations like UNDP, USAID forever to support it but can rather look regionally or continentally for support or timely intervention “, he added.

Making reference to the current gaps as a result of USAID support draw down, he indicated that if Africa- Africa can engage each and support each other, they will no longer be heavily impacted when such international situation happens.

According to him, if Liberia wants to address the current USAID funded gaps situations, the South- South and or Africa- Africa Partnership is one of the best ways to go.

The CSA Boss hailed Health Development Partnership for Africa and the Caribbean (HeDPAC)for its plan support to the regional conference.

Moreover, he noted that the organization is also partnering with both CSA and the Ministry of Health respectively.

As part of the (HeDPAC) partnership, Mr. Joekai told the media that they will work with the CSA in two stages to include Human Health work force and its related initiatives.

He made these remarks when the CSA led an array of other government line Ministries and agencies all situated at the EJS Ministerial Complex for a one day cleaning up exercise.

The one day cleaning up exercise, Joekai said was intended to among other things help maintain the beauty of the facility.

“Cleaningness is next to Godliness and we need to make sure that we live up to one of the pillars of the government development plan, The ARREST AGENDA for Inclusive Development which highlights Sanitation “, he encouraged his colleagues.

At the same time, the CSA boss assured the public that they as heads of government institutions operating at the Ministerial Complex will work together to have a coordinating machinism and policy put in place to ensure that they strengthen and enhance security on the compound of the EJS Ministerial Complex.

“We will bring all security officers at the Ministerial Complex together to have a uniformed security for the complex”, he added.

The new move, he noted is to ensure security accountability and to have a well coordinated structure to knwo who is responsible for the entire security of the compound.

“We will work with other Ministries within the compound to make it happen, we want to bring all security units within the compound together for them to work as one team”, he re-emphasized.

Meanwhile, the one day Cleaning up exercise at the compound of the EJS Ministerial Complex saw senior and junior government officials including workers rolled out their sleeves, cut grass as well as engaging into other cleaning up activities in a move to give their place of work a decent look.

The exercise also saw the replacement of old Flags of the fifth Counties of Liberia including the National Flag to brand new ones all geared towards maintaining the beauty and good image of the public facility.
