    Monrovia City Corporation Commits to Strengthening Waste Management Efforts

    IPNEWS: The Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) has pledged its commitment to enhancing waste management across the country, aiming to ensure a healthier environment for all citizens.

    Monrovia City Mayor John Siafa emphasized the importance of a multi-stakeholder approach to waste management, stating that it requires collective effort. “Waste management is a serious concern for the city, and the MCC is dedicated to curbing waste issues in Liberia,” Mayor Siafa declared.

    Mayor Siafa’s remarks came on Friday during an event where the Student Representatives Council of the United Methodist University expressed their appreciation to the MCC for its tremendous efforts in removing garbage from behind the university, which posed significant health risks to students.

    In a gesture of gratitude, the Student Council Government of the United Methodist University over the weekend presented a certificate of appreciation to the Monrovia City Corporation.

    The presentation was made by Matthew J. Fomgbeh, President of the United Methodist University Student Representatives Council and 20th Graduating Class.

    Fomgbeh commended the Monrovia City Mayor for his work in keeping Monrovia and its environs clean.

    Additionally, Fomgbeh presented a partnership plan to the Monrovia City Corporation, aiming to assist in the collection and management of waste.
