IPNEW: Police in Margibi County have arrested 15 people suspected of involvement in a series of robbery incidents in Kakata, with some of the suspects allegedly linked to the killing of a commercial motorcyclist whose body was discovered in the Sugar Hill Community on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The arrests were carried out on Tuesday by the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police (LNP), Margibi County Detachment.

The suspects have been identified as Daniel Sackie, Osmane Barry, Leroy Kango, Solomon Bengar, Prince Dennis, Ezekiel Mulbah, Soto Dortey, Richard Binda, Sylvester Korpah, Amara Sheriff, Taissy Kamara, Emmanuel Flomo, Eddison Paye, Markson Nyone and Mary Beyan.

According to police, information provided by one of the suspects assisted investigators in identifying and apprehending the others.

Following their arrest, the suspects were transferred to LNP headquarters in Monrovia, where they are expected to undergo further investigation.

Police say the group is also being investigated in connection with several other alleged robbery cases reported in Kakata, as security concerns continue to grow among residents.

Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the alleged role of each suspect in the motorcyclist’s killing or the other reported robberies.

The 15 suspects remain in police custody as the investigation continues. They have not been convicted of any crime and remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
