—-Says illegality and refusal to adhere to Rule of law must Never be entertained
IPNEWS: The Speaker of the 55th House of Representatives Cllr. Fonati Koffa says continued support for illegality and non-adherence to he rule of Law must be denounce if Liberia remain on the track of suataining democracy and National development.
Speaker Koffa for the first commenting on recent action by some members of his bloc to unite with the self-styled majority bloc vowed to not join the likes of Representatives Musa Bility and others to sit under gavel of Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon of the majority bloc.
Addressing the media upon his arrival to the country following his visit to the Republic Ghana, and the United States respectively to participate in their inauguration ceremonies at the Roberts International Airport, reflected on the many sacrifices made by both Liberians, and the international community to ensure Liberia remain stable called on Liberians to resist all forms of bad governance, especially corruption which continued to undermine the fabric of the county’s advancement.
Speaker Koffa further reaffirmed his rejection of Koon’s leadership by the announcement of plans to seek legal clarity on the contentious speakership dispute.
Addressing speculations over his Potential arrest order, Speaker Koffa played down the speculation terming them as imaginary conspiracy that would produce no evidence.
“I have always and continue to be law-abiding. There will be no way to link to acts of violence because there’s no record of such. “
“I’m actually taken aback to be mentioned by the Liberian National Police as person of interest. Liberia is all we have and respect for the Rule of Law must all all times be the Hallmark of ever citizen.”

House Speaker Koffa additionally pledged his fullest cooperation with the Liberia National Police (LNP) as ongoing probe continue to establish what caused the blaze on the Capitol Building, which damaged parts of the building.
“I have nothing to hide. I am here to cooperate with the investigation so that the truth can be established,” Koffa assured
Touching on outcomes of the long awaited ‘bill of information at the Supreme Court, speaker Koffa expressed hope that the bill of information previously filed before the courts would provide a definitive ruling on the matter of speaker legitimacy at the House of Representatives.
Recently Representative Yekeh Kulubah was thrown out of the chambers of the House of Representatives currently sitting at the Monrovia City Hall for behavior according to presiding officer Richard Koon as unacceptable.
Representative Kulubah has restated his resolved not to recognize the speakership of Richard Koon sighting constitutional provisions which provide for the House to have only one speaker at a given time and not two as is been allowed.
Addressing Reporters at the Grounds of the supreme court,where he had gone with his lawyers to file ma .writ of prohibition against the Sargent-at-arms and other officers of the House for their respective roles to throw him out of the chambers as a sitting Representative.
Representive Kulubah contents that the constitution and rules of the House of Representatives provide for protection a d safety to express himself in the Chambers of the House of Representatives and wonders why he should thrown out on instructions of the presiding officer Richard Koon.
