IPNEWS: Representative Clarence G. Gahr of Margibi County Electoral District #5 has reaffirmed his commitment to improving road infrastructure across the district, emphasizing that accessible roads are key to local development and community growth.
During a recent community engagement event held in the district, Rep. Gahr announced the successful acquisition of two heavy-duty “yellow machines” equipment that will be used to rehabilitate and maintain roads linking several towns and villages within District #5.
According to Gahr, the procurement of these machines marks a significant step toward addressing the longstanding issue of poor road connectivity, which has hindered economic activity and access to essential services in many parts of the district.
“District #5 can no longer tolerate bad roads,” Gahr declared. “These machines will remain here in the district to serve our people. Every community big or small deserves a good road network that connects them to opportunities.”
He assured residents that the machines will be strategically deployed to ensure all major and feeder roads are graded and made accessible, especially during the rainy season when travel becomes particularly challenging.
Rep. Gahr called on citizens to take ownership of the development process by working collaboratively with local leaders and the district administration. He emphasized that the era of political campaigning is over, and the focus must now shift to meaningful community progress.
“The campaign period is behind us,” he said. “It’s time to roll up our sleeves and build District #5 together. Development cannot happen in isolation it requires unity, participation, and shared responsibility.”
Residents who attended the event expressed appreciation for Rep. Gahr’s initiative, noting that improved road access will boost local trade, ease the transportation of farm produce, and enhance the delivery of health and educational services.
With the arrival of the two machines, Rep. Gahr’s office has outlined plans to begin immediate road works in targeted communities identified as most in need.
