—Holds strategic meetings with Regional Energy Cooperation during visit of Transco CLSG Delegation

IPNEWS: The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has welcome and lauded recent strategic meeting between President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.’s meeting and a high-level delegation from Transco CLSG, the regional electricity transmission company linking Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea amid at solidifying stable electricity during the dry season.

According to the Executive Mansion, President Boakai held discussions with the delegation led by Mr. Jiba Yilla, the Acting General Manager of Transco CLSG. Mr. Yilla was joined by LEC Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Sherif. The courtesy visit followed the delegation’s regional engagements across partner countries.

During the discussions, Mr. Yilla praised Liberia’s strong performance and devoted participation within the CLSG framework, describing the country as the project’s “best customer.” He highlighted Liberia’s steady commitment and LEC’s operational discipline as key factors that have made the country a model in regional power collaboration.

President Boakai expressed gratitude to the delegation for recognizing Liberia’s role and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to strengthening regional energy cooperation. He noted that the CLSG initiative demonstrates Africa’s growing leadership in managing critical infrastructure to drive collective progress.

“It is inspiring to witness Africans taking charge of such a crucial sector for the benefit of their own people,” President Boakai stated. He assured the delegation that Liberia will continue to support efforts to expand and sustain the regional power network.

Also in attendance were the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah, and the Acting Minister of Mines and Energy, Hon. Eudora Blay-Pritchard.

The LEC extended gratitude to President Boakai for his continuous leadership in advancing energy transformation and applauded Transco CLSG for acknowledging Liberia’s achievements. The Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to improving cross-border electricity trade, enhancing supply reliability, and expanding access to affordable power for all Liberians.
