IPNEWS: Executive Mansion, Monrovia-President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., will embark on a week-long visit to Lofa County, marking series of cultural celebrations and engagements with traditional leaders and residents.

The visit begins today with a warm reception in Foya Statutory District, where traditional leaders and community members will gather to welcome the President. A grand ceremony followed at the Foya Football Field, with thousands in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

On Sunday, December 22, His Excellency is scheduled to depart Foya for Voinjama to participate in the 60th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of Grand Gedeh, Nimba, Bong, and Lofa counties. The two-day event will highlight the historical and developmental strides of these regions since gaining County Status in 1964.

Speaking ahead of the event, Boakai emphasized the importance of unity among the counties, stating, “This milestone is a testament to our collective progress as a nation, and it is a privilege to join in this celebration with my fellow Liberians.”

Following the anniversary celebrations, President Boakai will return to Foya to celebrate Christmas Day with residents. His decision to spend the holiday with the community underscores his strong ties to his home county and his dedication to fostering meaningful connections with his people.

On December 26, President Boakai will attend the 40th day feast of the late Alhaji Abraham Fofana, a respected figure in the community. The solemn event will bring together family, friends, and well-wishers to honor Fofana’s memory and contributions to Lofa County.

The visit will conclude on December 27, with the President returning to Monrovia after a week of impactful engagements.

Residents of Lofa County have expressed excitement and gratitude for the President’s visit, describing it as a symbol of his continued leadership and dedication to the region.

As President Boakai’s visit unfolds, it is expected to further solidify his legacy as a unifying figure and a champion of Liberia’s rich cultural heritage.
