    LIBERIA: President Boakai Concludes  Month-long Diaspora Celebration of Nationalism, Unity and Progress

    IPNEWS: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. will hold a Diaspora Liberians Annual Return Farewell Program, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Executive Mansion.

    The Program, marking the grand finale climaxes the month-long Diaspora Liberians Annual Return 2024, a historic celebration that highlighted the unbreakable bond between Liberia and its Diaspora communities. 

    The event will honor the achievements of this remarkable series of activities and the shared aspirations for a prosperous and united Liberia.

    Distinguished guests, including government officials, members of the Legislature, and Diaspora Liberians, are invited to join this momentous occasion, which will reflect on the accomplishments  and renew the collective commitment to Liberia’s future.

    The month-long celebration  which began in December showcased Liberia’s vibrant culture, unity, and development potential through series of impactful events, including:

     • Christmas Cantata: A heartwarming performance brought the Nativity story to life, featuring arts, crafts, pony rides, and family activities that inspired festive joy.

     • Dinner at the President’s Home: President Boakai and the First Lady hosted the Diaspora community, celebrating with laughter, cuisine, and a memorable gowning ceremony.

     • Diaspora Heritage Awards: Liberians excelling in various sectors were honored for their contributions. The event also raised funds to support Early Childhood Education initiatives.

     • Investment Summit: A forum that spotlighted investment opportunities in Agriculture, Health, Tourism, and other key sectors, fostering dialogue and partnerships for Liberia’s progress.

     • Peace and Reconciliation Dialogue: A platform that promoted national unity and meaningful conversations to heal historical divides.

     • Nationwide Christmas Party: Communities across Liberia joined in celebration, spreading Christmas joy and unity to every corner of the nation.

     • Official Welcome Ceremony: The festivities began with a warm welcome at the Executive Mansion, where Diaspora guests received commemorative t-shirts, caps, and scarves.

    The Farewell Program will honor the remarkable achievements of the first annual return and the collaboration between the government and the Diaspora. It will also serve as a forward-looking moment to strengthen partnerships for Liberia’s future development.

    Members of the Diaspora community and leaders are expected to join in celebrating the success and bidding farewell and reaffirm the shared commitment to Liberia’s progress, prosperity, and unity.
