IPNEWS: The Liberia Permanent Mission in London, United Kingdom has congratulated its Legal and Policy Officer, Atty. Matta Fatima Kromah on her epic appointment as Vice Chairperson of the 29th Session of the International Mobile Satellite Organisation (IMSO) Assembly. IMSO is a specialized bodies of the International MaritimeOrganization (IMO).

“Ms. Kromah’s preferment to serve in such high profile international role doesn’t come as a surprise, as she is not only emanently qualified for the role but she has served the IMSO Assembly with dedication, hardwork, distinction and the highest degree of professionalism over the last five years, thereby earning the confidence of the Assembly”, a brief statement issued by the Liberia Permanent Mission today stated.

Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the IMO, Ambassador Robert Wilmot Kpadeh expresses profound appreciation to the IMSO Assembly for the appointment of Atty. Kromah and assures the body that she will serve with even more greater dedication and professionalism in fostering the agenda of IMSO to higher heights. The appointment of Kromah potentially strengthens Liberia’s standing at the IMO and is evident of how Liberia through its Permanent Mission in London is meaningfully contributing to the forward march of the IMO, Ambassador Kpadeh is quoted as stating.

It can be recalled that in October 2024 the IMO Assembly voted to to retain Liberia’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the IMO, Dr. Harry Conway as Chair of its biggest and most significant Committee, the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) as a reward for his hard work and his effective and efficient leadership as Chair of the Committee over the last two years. This yet again signifies how proficient the Permanent Mission under the stewardship of Ambassador Kpadeh continues to perform.

In ending, the release stated that the Permanent Mission extends best wishes and plages full backing to Atty. Kromah, an erudite Maritime Lawyer, as she embarks on this honorable charge, as well as, admonishes her to serve with distinction and nobility, adding, “know that you carry the flag of your dear country Liberia”.
