IPNEWS: The Ministry of Justice announced Saturday, January 4, that it has launched an immediate investigation into the death of Mr. Anwar Futloo, General Manager of the Boulevard Palace Hotel. Futloo was a South African, who died under mysterious circumstances, on December 30, 2024, in Monrovia.
According to a release from the Justice Ministry, to ascertain the cause of death, it has ordered an autopsy to be conducted on the remains of the South African national.
“The Government of Liberia is deeply concerned about the death of the South African national and will do everything within its power to thoroughly investigate and prosecute anyone found implicated in his death,” the release added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has called on all citizens and foreign residents to remain calm, exercise restraint, resist speculations, and be assured that the protection and safety of all within the bailiwick of Liberia is a high priority, in spite of this unfortunate situation.
“The Government of Liberia extends deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the South African Government and the business community for this great loss of their son, citizen and business partner.
“The Ministry of Justice will keep the public and those with vested interests updated as the investigation unfolds and new information becomes readily available.”
When Futloo passed, the hotel management issued a statement in which “expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Futloo.” It described him as more than just a leader to the hotel. “Anwar was not just a leader; he was the heart of Boulevard Palace, inspiring every member of our team with his unwavering dedication, compassion, and vision.”
The management praised his transformative leadership, noting that under his guidance, Boulevard Palace had become a renowned symbol of excellence, where both guests and employees felt at home.
Boulevard Palace Hotel thanked the community for its outpouring of support and condolences, acknowledging the impact of Futloo’s life both inside and outside the organization.
