The Ministry of Justice, under the visionary leadership of Minister Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, proudly hosted the closing and certification ceremony for Cycle 2 of the Responsible Citizens Justice Program (RCJP)โ€”a transformative initiative designed to promote a culture of justice, integrity, and civic responsibility among Liberiaโ€™s youth.

Held in the Ministryโ€™s 6th Floor Conference Room on Friday, September 19, 2025, the ceremony marked the successful completion of the month-long program by a dynamic group of high school and university students. These young participants, now officially commissioned as Justice Ambassadors, have been empowered to serve as role models within their schools, churches, mosques, and communities.

In his special remarks, Justice Minister Tweh commended the students for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the program. He encouraged them to remain committed to upholding the values of justice, fairness, and integrityโ€”principles that are critical to Liberiaโ€™s continued growth and development.

โ€œAs Justice Ambassadors, you must lead by exampleโ€”stand for what is right, speak the truth in love, and promote peace and justice wherever your voice can reach,โ€ he urged.

Minister Tweh reaffirmed the Ministryโ€™s commitment to investing in young people and creating platforms that foster civic engagement, legal awareness, and ethical leadership. He described the RCJP as more than just a programโ€”it is a movement aimed at cultivating a generation of justice-minded citizens who are ready to challenge injustice and uphold the rule of law.

The Minister also announced the reintroduction of the Cadet Program at the Ministry of Justice, which will allow students to gain practical work experience as they prepare for future careers in law, governance, and public service.

Launched as a flagship youth empowerment initiative of the Ministry, the RCJP provides participants with hands-on training through legal education sessions, community dialogues, and real-life advocacy projects. Students are equipped with a solid understanding of their rights, civic duties, and the justice system in Liberia.

Cycle 2 of the program saw increased participation, drawing students from several senior high schools and universities across the country.

Over the course of several weeks, participants engaged with legal professionals, educators, and civic leadersโ€”gaining valuable insights and tools to positively influence their communities.

The closing ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates to the newly inducted Justice Ambassadors. Several students expressed heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity, pledging to serve with integrity and become champions of justice in their respective spheres.

In addition to honoring the students, the Ministry of Justice also recognized and awarded certificates to key partner institutions, including ArcelorMittal Liberia, the Liberia National Police, and the Liberia Immigration Service, among others, for their continued support to the program.
