The Bureau of Statistics (BSE) concluded a three-day retreat over the weekend focused on integrating stakeholder feedback into its upcoming five-year strategic plan.

Held from March 21-23, in Marshall, Margibi County.

The gathering brought together senior management and technical staff to review data collected during recent public consultations. Discussions centered on aligning the bureau’s objectives with identified needs to ensure the final plan is both actionable and data-driven.

Addressing the team at the close of the retreat, Director General Hon. JSB Theodore Momo Jr. commended the technical staff for their dedication and attention to detail. He emphasized that the strategic plan represents a critical roadmap for modernizing the country’s statistical systems.

“This plan is not merely a document—it is our collective commitment to delivering reliable data that will inform national development,” Momo said. “I extend my deepest appreciation to the technical team for their tireless efforts in ensuring that every piece of feedback has been carefully considered. Their expertise and commitment are the foundation upon which we will build a more responsive and effective institution.”

Officials noted that the retreat emphasized transparency and collaboration, aiming to strengthen the bureau’s framework for statistical development over the next half-decade. The finalized strategic plan is expected to be rolled out later this year.
