IPNEWS: The Ministry of Agriculture, supported by the World Bank–funded RETRAP project, has kicked off a five-day training program on Climate-Smart Agriculture from October 27 to 31, 2025, at the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) in Suakoko, Bong County.
The training brings together 60 farmers from Bomi, Bong, Cape Mount, Montserrado, Margibi, and Nimba counties, focusing on rice, cassava, and rubber production.
Farmers will learn modern climate-smart agricultural practices to boost yields, adapt to climate change, and protect the environment. They’ll also receive entrepreneurship training under the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) model, helping them turn farming into a thriving enterprise!
“By adopting climate-smart and entrepreneurial approaches, farmers will be better equipped to face modern agricultural challenges,” emphasized Nathan Zoney, RETRAP County-Level Facilitator for Montserrado County.
Together, we’re building a more resilient and prosperous agriculture sector for Liberia!
